Serving Wollongong faithfully.
Wesley Community Centre is open from Monday to Thursday 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and Fridays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. We offer the following services:
Morning tea (tea or coffee and snacks) and lunch (soup, sandwiches, or a hot meal).
Food parcels, blankets, clothing, and personal care items (subject to availability).
Orange Sky Laundry provides a laundry service every Thursday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The Co-ordinator of the Community Centre, Karen Zaini, has a diploma in counselling and can provide professional referral to other bodies as appropriate.
When circumstances allow it, we also provide basic skills training to our clients, e.g., how to write a letter.
All services are provided at no cost.
Several commercial businesses, shops and restaurants donate food. Members of Uniting Church congregations along with members of the public, provide gifts of tinned, dried or long-life food. We could not operate without financial assistance and are heavily dependent upon financial donations, both from companies and from individuals.
Gifts of food may be delivered directly to the Community Centre premises in Court Lane during opening hours. For monetary donations, please click the button below.
Donate NowThe Co-ordinator, Karen Zaini, is assisted each day by a small army of volunteers who prepare and serve the meals and provide care to our clients. Volunteer shifts are 9:00 am to 1:00 pm weekdays.
Contact Community Centre directly by telephone on 02 4229 2117 and speak to Karen.
Food Fairness Illawarra have developed a low cost and free meals directory to help those in need find all the services in our local area.
